Also making Stone Town popular is Old Fort, a repository of the enriching history of Tanzania that gives you a sneak peek into the past. Old Fort was built in the early 17th-century, is the oldest building in Stone Town and is one of the most popular attractions in the city.
A visit to this exciting city is not complete if you haven't tried the delectable and tempting food of Zanzibar. Zanzibar has an abundance of spices that are present in numerous ancient shops along the streets. It’s no wonder the food is full of flavors and spices. Zanzibar pizza is one of the favorite food items and is available in every food shop. For something sweet, indulge in some delicious Mandazi, a simple dough that is deep fried until it's puffy and light. It’s like a donut without the hole.
