A bucket list of must-see destinations isn’t complete without a destination that’s home to several of the world’s most beautiful beaches. A unique Indian Ocean island off the coast of Tanzania, Zanzibar is the quintessential destination that offers superlative historical, cultural exploratory and eco-tourism beach experiences in East Africa. Zanzibar is surrounded by stunning landscapes and breathtaking views that entice tourists every year. The streets’ stunning architecture and pristine beaches keep them coming back.

Zanzibar is known worldwide for its spectacular natural beauty and scenic green spots in the city. It’s Jozani Chwaka National Park is known for sightseeing rare species of monkeys and vibrant butterflies. And Nungwi Beach!!! Well, it is one of the most breathtaking places surrounded by the majestic Indian Ocean. It is located in the Northwestern region of Tanzania and is nothing less than a tropical paradise with beautiful cottages and sea-facing restaurants. Another stunning beach of Zanzibar is Nakupenda Beach where you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling and diving in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean.

One of the most famous spots in Zanzibar is the historic Stone Town where you can experience the taste of rich Swahili culture and traditions. A stroll down the narrow streets of the city, indulging in authentic coffee or tea is pure heaven. Also making Stone Town popular is Old Fort, a repository of the enriching history of Tanzania that gives you a sneak peek into the past. Old Fort was built in the early 17th-century, is the oldest building in Stone Town and is one of the most popular attractions in the city.

A visit to this exciting city is not complete if you haven't tried the delectable and tempting food of Zanzibar. Zanzibar has an abundance of spices that are present in numerous ancient shops along the streets. It’s no wonder the food is full of flavors and spices. Zanzibar pizza is one of the favorite food items and is available in every food shop. For something sweet, indulge in some delicious Mandazi, a simple dough that is deep fried until it's puffy and light. It’s like a donut without the hole.

Zanzibar is becoming more and more popular among tourists because of the abundance of natural beauty, picturesque views and rich culture and traditions and we look forward to checking it off our bucket list.
